Alumni and Career Resources

Students in History develop many skills that are highly valued by employers, including critical thinking, synthesis and analysis, intensive research, organization, time management, data collection, and historical perspective. Many of our students also develop valuable experience in historical assessment, team work and collaboration, communication, and problem-solving through both classroom and internship experience.

Alumni from History are working in a variety of fields and areas, including teaching and research, business and law, archival and library work, public history and museum work, archaeology, journalism, public service and policy. The potential employment opportunities for former history students are vast, as indicated by the success achieved by many of our alumni.

Read what a few of our history alumni have to say about their own experiences at DePaul.
