Islamic World Studies (IWS) offers an interdisciplinary curriculum that promotes a sophisticated understanding of Muslim majority and Muslim minority societies in Africa, the Middle East, South Asia, Southeast Asia, Central Asia, Europe, and the Americas. Its courses are inspired by faculty with diverse areas of expertise who conduct research worldwide and by Chicago's own abundant cultural resources.
