The Department of Biological Sciences is committed to the success of each student in all of our courses. The faculty and staff of the department are dedicated to providing an environment that is academically rich, intellectually rewarding, and supportive of individual needs. All of our faculty strives to offer courses that engage the mind and expand the knowledge and skills of the students. Our goal as a department is to be accessible and responsive to students to help them succeed in their academic and professional goals. Our research faculty believes strongly in their roles as mentors and in the use of research projects as a tool to help students understand the process and practice of science. They actively involve students in their research projects, and many of our students have helped present their work at regional and national meetings.
