April 9, 2012: CIE student representatives held their first major
student-led event at DePaul entitled Spring Into the Quarter with CIE! The evening centered around interfaith and intercultural poetry and
music. Two amazing spoken word poets, Stephanie Rose Perez and Ainee
Fatima, kicked off the evening and were followed by an hour and a half long performance by the Chicago-based ensemble Funkadesi. Funkadesi put
on a great show, mingling with the audience and encouraging them to get
out of their seats to dance. CIE intends make this student-led event an
annual staple of our events on campus.
