TRF Brown Bag Lunch: "A Railroad for the 21st Century: The Illiana Rail Bypass Concept"
Join us for a special presentation by independent railroad consultant Mr. Jim Giblin, an independent railroad consultant and technical advisor for Great Lakes Basin, LLC, about a proposal for construction of "a railroad for the 21st Century." In the tradition of Daniel Hudson Burnham and the 1909 Plan of Chicago, the Illiana Rail Bypass Concept represents a truly "big plan" solution for the Chicago region's rail congestion issues. It calls for the construction of a railroad for the 21st Century to provide a new high speed, high capacity freight rail line around, not through, the Chicago Terminal. Location: DePaul University, School of Public Service, 14 East Jackson Blvd., Suite 1601 (16th FL), Chicago, IL 60604. To RSVP: Email us at chaddick@depaul.edu. This is a free event and please bring your lunch!
