Municipal Design Review Network

The Municipal Design Review Network (MDRN) is a forum for Chicago metropolitan area communities to share information regarding architectural review of buildings, signage and landscaping. The MDRN network has the specific goal to: develop professionalism and best practices for the challenging legal process issues involved in the regulation of aesthetics.

Up to eighty-five municipal planners, elected officials, commission members and other land use professionals are now gathering quarterly to hear news on recent legislation affecting local appearance and architectural review. Past Topics include Form-Based Codes, retail center signage Issues, and legal updates. Network membership and programming are targeted for municipal staff and commissioners who have ongoing involvement in urban design issues.
