(22 pages, PDF).  Our new national study showing how the growing use of portable electronic technology among intercity air, rail, and bus passengers is having transformative effects on travel behavior across the United States.


Publications Released in 2009 and 2010

The Intercity Bus: America's Fastest Growing Transportation Mode, 2010 Update on Scheduled Bus Service. (PDF, 12 pages).  This is our annual summary of the intercity bus sector, including an estimate of the environmental benefits of rising traffic levels on new “curbside operators” such as BoltBus, Megabus, and DC2NY Bus.   Released in December 2010. 

Costs of Terminating Lock Operations on the Chicago Area Waterway System.  Our review of the economic cost of discontinuing operations of the Chicago Lock and O’Brien lock in response to the migration of Asian carp.  This was prepared for the Illinois Chamber of Commerce in Spring 2010

Companion Animals and Chicago Communities: A Strategic Assessment for the City of Chicago.  Conducted in partnership with Best Friends Animal Society for the city of Chicago, this study uses the principles of effective municipal planning and development to explore factors related to companion-animals, including but not limited to public health, public safety and distribution of resources.  The final report was briefed out to City Council on March 3, 2010.
