DePaul University’s College of Liberal Arts and Sciences is pleased to host its Master of Public Health Program (MPH).
The mission of the Master of Public Health Program is the preservation, enrichment, transmission, and application of interdisciplinary knowledge in public health that emphasizes social justice, service to vulnerable populations and excellence in public health practice.
The Master of Public Health Program is an interdisciplinary program in which students take classes based in a number of departments and programs throughout the University. These include: anthropology, applied statistics, biology, communication, law, nursing, psychology, public services, social work and sociology. The interdisciplinary program has one focus--community health practice.
This program is designed to meet the needs of individuals who are working in public health or allied health arenas and are seeking to expand upon their knowledge and training in the field of public health; as well as those who have no prior experience in public health but have a strong interest in the field. It is ideal for working professionals given that the courses will be offered in the evening at the Lincoln Park Campus. Students can complete the degree in two, three or four years depending on the number of courses students take each quarter.
The program provides a collaborative, applied approach to education, focusing on health promotion and disease prevention with individuals, families, communities and organizations.
The objective of the course of study is to provide students with the professional knowledge and practical skills they will need to identify and address community health needs.
