We are looking for Scholars-Athletes-Leaders like you who have demonstrated talents in high school, or prior enlisted service, and are ready to take on a real challenge. Our programs give you the opportunity to learn excellent leadership and management skills, and to participate in some of the finest training available. Unlike traditional college programs, Army ROTC gives you a wide range of experiences while you work toward your degree. You'll combine classroom time with hands-on experience, learning skills that are sure to give you an edge over your peers when it comes time to look for a job. Whether you're planning a career in the Army or the corporate world, Army ROTC is a smart elective course to take. As part of Army ROTC, you'll be in the company of a diverse group of individuals with broad interests. The Army ROTC program, in addition to providing a basic foundation in military subjects, is designed to develop the highest qualities of leadership, character, and citizenship through your studies which include: leadership development, military skills, and adventure training, such as field training exercises, challenging physical training, Ranger Challenge, Bataan Death March, repelling, and combat water survival training. You can also compete for the opportunity to attend Airborne school, Air Assault School, or Mountain Warfare School. You will also have the opportunity to participate in ROTC social events.
Upon graduation and commissioning as an Army officer, you’ll continue to hone your leadership skills either on active duty or in a reserve component (U.S. Army Reserve or Army National Guard). Army ROTC awards scholarships to qualified students enrolling in a variety of academic disciplines – scholarships that pay full tuition at DePaul, plus mandatory fees, as well as a monthly stipend of spending money paid directly to the student. Army ROTC courses teach you how to succeed in a competitive world both in college and beyond. Each student must earn his or her commission by finding the right formula to achieve high academic grades, and complete the required ROTC training. We are very proud of the quality and diversity of our student-cadets at DePaul University. We openly invite any student or faculty member to come by our office, classrooms, or leadership labs to observe our program and ask our students some questions.
