Some of our students are young professionals, just beginning their careers or in early stages, looking for needed skills and credentials. Some are mid-career professionals wanting to strengthen their administrative and analytical capabilities. And some are working adults looking to change direction, most often wanting to move from jobs in the for-profit sector to a career in the nonprofit or government sector.
Our students range from 22 to 60 years old; more than 50 percent are age 25-35. About 30 percent work in the nonprofit sector, many in healthcare; 15 percent come from government careers, 20 percent come from the field of education (mostly higher education administration), and eight percent are association managers. Twenty-five percent work in the for-profit sector. While 45 percent come from the Chicago area, 45 percent come from all over the United States and 10 percent come from other countries.
Most have degrees in liberal arts and sciences; some have advanced degrees in medicine, law, business, education, and social work. They earned these degrees at more than 100 different four-year colleges and universities.
