While each of our master degrees has a distinct focus, all share a few attributes: enthusiastic students who share their ideas in dynamic classroom discussions; an interdisciplinary faculty that make the curriculum particularly fresh and relevant; and—perhaps most important—a mission-driven purpose to make the world a better place.

We’re flexible in program delivery—always innovating to meet the needs of our students, most of whom are working adults. We offer classes in the morning, or evening at our convenient loop campus. Study-abroad courses typically begin with one or two classes in Chicago followed by a one-week intensive program in the host country.

A Practical Distinction

Our students develop deep and strong credentials in specific areas of interest—degrees, concentrations or certificates—or by choosing among 60 elective classes. All programs and courses focus on practical applications—taught by faculty with career experience in their fields. We also identify international themes for each degree and use cases and examples from around the world in each course.

But our program is distinctive in requiring students from both possible public service career paths—nonprofit and government—to take core classes together. In this way, our graduates tend to be highly successful in the real world of collaborative work.
