Completing a major or a minor in the History of Art and Architecture provides students with many important transferable skills for the job market and graduate school, such as creative thinking, verbal and written communication, research tactics, problem solving, and multicultural understanding. Our accomplished graduates work in a wide range of fields and have completed master’s and doctoral programs in art history and numerous other subjects, as well as law school and medical school.
HAA’s Chair Mark DeLancey is always happy to discuss career paths with current students and connect them with alumni. The Career Center also offers important resources to support students. For example, Career Center staff can assist students with preparing their resumes, drafting a cover letter for an internship or job, organize informational interviews, practice job or internship interviews, and earn credit for an internship through the University Internship Program.
