Join the Collaborative
The STRC offers a range of opportunities for College of LAS humanities faculty working on themes related to the histories and cultures of people of color: from faculty research fellowships in the humanities, to professional development grants for interdisciplinary training, to mentorship roles for our graduate student fellows or teaching roles for incoming students taking part in our Summer Institute and advanced students who have been awarded a Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowship. Moreover, all faculty at DePaul are welcome to join in our public events and are encouraged to participate in STRC's intellectual community.
Teaching and Mentorship Opportunities
The STRC is seeking applications from LAS full-time faculty interested in teaching the STRC Undergraduate Research Fellowship Seminar (SURFS). Faculty will 1) teach this 5-week course in interdisciplinary humanities research methods for six STRC Undergraduate Research Fellows during Summer Session I 2025; and 2) oversee the completion of the projects of all six fellows over the subsequent Autumn Quarter and early December 2025.
Research and Professional Development Opportunities
The Collaborative offers two, twelve-month-long scholarly or community-engaged Research Fellowships for untenured or mid-career tenure-line faculty in the humanities for whom extended paid leave and research assistance would provide time to make progress toward publication prior to tenure and/or promotion. Fellowships will begin in July 2026 and continue through June 2027.
The Collaborative offers a six-month Professional Development Fellowship for tenure-line faculty working on subjects related to populations of color and who need time and space to learn new methods, content, and approaches outside their discipline to bolster the interdisciplinary reach of their scholarship and teaching. The fellowship will begin in July 2026 and continue through December 15, 2026.
