Jaime Hovey

Jaime Hovey's teaching interests include sexuality and gender studies, and British and U.S. literature and cultural studies. She has a PhD from Rutgers and a JD from the University of Illinois College of Law. Her book is titled A Thousand Words: Portraiture, Style, and Queer Modernism (Ohio State 2006), and her current project is about queer gallantry and nonchalance from the 1920s and 30s on.

Dr. Hovey has taught many classes at DePaul, particularly around gender and sexuality. These have included: LGQ 150: Introduction to LGBTQ Studies; AMS 275: History of Sex in American, Part 1 (Puritans to Victorians); AMS 276: History of Sex in American, Part 2 (Victorians to the Present); LSP: 200: History of Marriage in the U.S. She has also taught courses on Stephen King and the Zombie Apocalypse.
