The DePaul Humanities Center serves as a focal point for innovative research and public dialogue in the arts and humanities. We bring together DePaul faculty, staff, and students with leading scholars and artists from Chicago and beyond to explore ideas that shape culture, society, and our shared humanity.
Through our fellows programs, annual series, and public events, the DePaul Humanities Center supports creative, rigorous, and novel approaches to scholarship, creating opportunities for meaningful exchange across disciplines, communities, and perspectives and thereby highlighting the essential role of the arts and humanities in understanding our world.
The DePaul Humanities Center's Goals Include:
- being a space for, creating visibility of, and generally helping to shape and promote the most cutting-edge, excellent work in the arts and humanities today;
- fostering discussion among the greater community;
- nurturing current and future leaders in the humanities, arts, and culture at large;
- and promoting collaborative, interdisciplinary thinking that demonstrates the integral role of the humanities and arts in a life of common flourishing.
