Adar Cohen is an educator, organizer, and researcher in the areas of conflict resolution, youth empowerment, and nonviolent social change. As the director of programs for Civic Leadership Foundation, he supports young people throughout the country in preparing to be successful in school, work, and civic life. Experiences designing an interfaith peacebuilding initiative for Search for Common Ground, investigating human rights abuses at Guantánamo Bay with the Center for International Human Rights at Northwestern University Law School, and leading nonviolence workshops for the Fellowship of Reconciliation inform his teaching. A graduate of Wheaton College in Massachusetts and of the doctoral program in International Peace Studies at the University of Dublin (Trinity College), Cohen completed training with Mediation Northern Ireland. He is the co-author of Jimmie Lee and James: Two Lives, Two Deaths, and the Movement that Changed America.
