RFMS Students and DePaul Sanctuary Support Afghan Refugees
DePaul Sanctuary student group members, along with their faculty advisor and director of the RFMS program, Kathleen Arnold, created a mentorship program to offer Afghan refugee students joining DePaul with support and friendship.
Several current RFMS students work with resettlement agencies in Chicago, and have helped DePaul Sanctuary collect donated clothing and food for the new students. Read more about the efforts to resettle these new DePaul students here.

Alumnus Addisalem Agegnehu Starts New Position at Ethiopian Community Association of Chicago

We are happy to announce that RFMS alumnus Addisalem Agegnehu accepted
a position with the Ethiopian Community Association of Chicago as the
Match Grant Case Manager. Her role is to ensure that newly resettled
refugees are employed and self-sufficient. ECAC is currently looking for

Rohingya Awareness Event

The Rohingya Awareness Event was organized thanks to our first year students Bao Thao and Emily Fleitz, who partnered with Dr. Imran Akbar from the RCC and Abdul Jabbar-Amanullah and Nasir Zakaria from the Rohingya Culture Center to give us a glimpse into the largest current refugee settlement in the world. The speakers offered us a crude picture of some of the health and security risks that the Rohingya minority have been exposed to for about two decades.
