Paisly Mitchell, GISP, is an instructor for DePaul’s Master of Arts in Sustainable Urban Development (MASUD) program for which she teaches a course in Brownfields Redevelopment. She has a master’s degree in Geography and Environmental Studies from Northeastern Illinois University (NEIU) with a graduate certificate in GIS. Her research interests include GIS, cartography, East Asia, and urban geography. She is a member of the the Society of Woman Geographers (SWG), the Illinois Geographical Society (IGS), and the Japan America Society of Chicago (JASC). She was the GIS Coordinator for the Region 5 Office of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. Her duties included providing GIS training in the Region, leading the GIS support team for emergency response, and coordinating geospatial activities in the Region.
