2027-28 and 2028-29 Fellowships
Applications for fellowships are reviewed once a year in early January. CWCIT is now accepting applications for the 2027-28 and 2028-29 academic years. The deadline to apply is January 1, 2027. DePaul University's academic year usually starts in early September after Labor Day and ends in early June. The duration of the fellowship is flexible—up to four months—depending on the availability of the scholar.
CWCIT provides travel expenses to and from Chicago and a monthly stipend, as well as office space, equipment, supplies, administrative support, and library access.
Eligibility Requirements
- A doctoral degree
- Research focused on some aspect of Catholicism in the "global South"—Asia, Africa, Latin America
- Professional proficiency in English (written and spoken)
Strong preference is given to scholars based in the global South who generally do not have the same access to research resources as do scholars based in the global North.
