This is a list of resources at DePaul, the greater Chicago area and national hotlines, that offer counseling, support and advocacy, health services, bilingual services, and community outreach.
Chicago Area and National Resources
The following resources are for rape crisis and domestic violence services around the greater Chicago area. The resources include counseling, medical and legal support and advocacy, mental health services, childcare, financial advising, alternatives to calling the police, community outreach, food pantry access and affordable and safe living spaces.

LGBTQ Violence Resource Line
This Center on Halsted line is the only LGBTQ-specific program that addresses violence against and within LGBTQ communities in Illinois. The line is answered during regular business hours, Monday through Friday, and callers can expect a response within one business day. The line provides callers with safety planning, information and referrals, personal, legal and media advocacy, public outreach and education, and crisis counseling. There are no fees for Violence Resource Line services.
Office of Health Promotion and Wellness
The Office of Health Promotion and Wellness offers excellent DePaul and community resources for counseling, medical and legal services, personal and academic support, as well as education for prevention. It also provides information about DePaul’s policies and procedures regarding reporting and methods of addressing sexual and relationship violence.
Resilience (formerly RVA)
Resilience offers non-judgmental crisis intervention counseling, individual and group counseling, and medical and legal advocacy in the greater Chicago metropolitan area. Services are free of charge.
YWCA Sexual Assault Services
Provides support, education and advocacy, including individual, family, and group counseling services, medical and legal advocacy, rape crisis hotline, and training. Services are free of charge.
Chicago Metropolitan Battered Women's Network
The Network is a collaborative membership organization dedicated to improving the lives of those impacted by domestic violence through education, public policy and advocacy, and the connection of community members to direct service providers.
Connections for Abused Women and their Children
Using a self-help, empowerment approach, we provide a shelter for women and children, and counseling, advocacy, and a 24-hour hotline for people affected by domestic violence. We are staffed by a team of multi-cultural, bilingual professionals, volunteers, student interns.
Family Rescue
Family Rescue has been a leader in the field by consistently providing progressive services to survivors of domestic violence for over thirty years. We are the only domestic violence agency in the city with a consistent presence in a Chicago Police District, civil court, and both misdemeanor and felony courts through our Court Advocacy Program.
In Power: The Sexual Harm Response Program by Howard Brown
Howard Brown’s Violence Recovery Project (VRP) offers individual and group counseling, plus comprehensive services to survivors and victims of domestic or intimate partner violence in the LGBTQ+ community.
Mujeres Latinas en Acción
A bilingual/bicultural agency that empowers Latinas by providing services which reflect their values and culture and being and advocate on the issues that make a difference in their lives. Offers a comprehensive array of social services and advocacy initiatives that promote non-violence, reproductive health and leadership development.Childcare is provided for clients while they are receiving services.
Illinois Coalition Against Sexual Assault
ICASA member rape crisis centers are located across the state. Each center operates a 24-hour-hotline that provides services every day of the year. Staff and volunteers provide counseling, education and advocacy for victims and their families, and they conduct training and prevention programs for local schools, law enforcement, hospitals and civic groups.

Rape, Abuse & Incest National Network (RAINN)
Operates the National Sexual Assault Hotline (800) 656–HOPE, in partnership with more than 1,000 local sexual assault service providers across the country and operates the DoD Safe Helpline for the Department of Defense.
KAN-WIN
KAN-WIN's mission is to eradicate all forms of violence against women, including domestic violence and sexual assault, by empowering Asian American survivors and engaging the community through culturally competent services, community education and outreach, and advocacy.
