David Goldberg

Dr. David Goldberg teaches courses on LGBTQ+ History, the History of Sex in America, and the Honors seminar, “Pride and Protest: LGBTQ+ Activism in America.” He is the author of The Retreats of Reconstruction: Race, Leisure, and the Politics of Segregation at the New Jersey Shore, 1865-1920 (Fordham University Press, 2016) and is currently working on a new research project on AIDS era activism in Chicago that explores the sexual health initiatives that local LGBTQ+ residents and activists undertook to promote sexual freedom and economic justice in the years before life-saving medications.
