SPS/Chaddick Excursion to the State Capital!
Join SPS Professor Nick Kachiroubas for a unique opportunity to shadow a State Representative during the Spring legislative session in Springfield. Participants can take the Amtrak from Chicago on Tuesday, March 1, stay overnight, and return via Amtrak on March 2. Registration cost is $30 which includes lodging (a double occupancy room and breakfast Wednesday). Amtrak tickets and other meals are the responsibility of the student. Pre-registration is required by February 15 and space is limited. For more information, please see the attached flyer

Branding Beyond the Logo
This program, hosted jointly by the Chaddick Institute's Municipal Design Review Network (MDRN) and Chicago Metro Section of the American Planning Association (APA), will explore the role of branding in placemaking, urban design, and economic development. We will be discussing the details of successful branding initiatives that are more than just a logo and have effectively captured a community's identity, appeal to both internal (residents and local businesses) and external (tourists and visitors) audiences, and incorporated architectural and planning aspects that are integral to the community. Chaddick Spring Study Trip to Milwaukee, Wisconsin
Join us for a full day "mobile workshop" to learn about innovative planning strategies in this neighboring city known for its vibrant lakefront and historical industrial areas. The date is currently tentative and the trip is open to all current SPS students and alums. $25 registration fee includes accommodations Thursday night in Milwaukee, breakfast, and lunch. Day trips are also possible. Participants are required to secure their own transportation to and from Milwaukee. Space is limited! Registration information available here

The Camille Hatzenbuehler Woman in Civic Leadership Award
The Chaddick Institute is currently working with a prestigious committee to create this award, which will recognize a woman who has demonstrated leadership in civic engagement in Chicago. This scholarship is in memory of Camille and her many contributions to the Chaddick Institute, as well as her active engagment with civic institutions around Chicago. The winner(s) of the scholarship will be recognized at a luncheon in May, 2016.
