Chaddick Spring Study Trip to Milwaukee, Wisconsin
Join us for a full day "mobile workshop" to learn about innovative planning strategies in this neighboring city known for its vibrant lakefront and historical industrial areas. The trip is open to all current SPS students and alums. $25 registration fee includes accommodations Thursday night in Milwaukee, breakfast, and lunch. Day trips are also possible. SPS Authentic Conversations Series: The Hon. Ray LaHood and Dr. Frank Mackaman
Please join SPS in welcoming two distinguished guests to a special feature of the SPS Authentic Conversation lecture series with a focus on bipartisanship. The Honorable Ray LaHood represented Illinois' 18th Congressional district for 7 terms from 1995-2009 before serving as President Obama's first Secretary of Transportation from 2009-2013. Dr. Mackaman recently published a book on bipartisanship and is currently employed at the Dirksen Congressional Center in downstate Illinois. The Chaddick Institute Leadership in Honor of Camille Hatzenbuehler
The Chaddick Institute is currently working with a prestigious committee to create this award, which will recognize a woman who has demonstrated leadership in civic engagement in Chicago. This scholarship is in memory of Camille and her many contributions to the Chaddick Institute, as well as her active engagment with civic institutions around Chicago. Downtown Glenview Walking Tour
The Chaddick Institute's Municipal Design Review Network (MDRN) will host its annual "Downtown Walking Tour" this July in Glenview, Illinois. This traditional North Shore suburb has embarked on an ambitious plan to revitalize it's village downtown, including a rebuilt Metra train station, public library, repurposed Dominick's grocery store, and riverwalk along the North Branch of the Chicago River. Tours are lead by staff from the municipality for in depth analysis and discussion about the projects we will see. The tour is free, with an optional lunch at a local restaurant to follow.
