FAQs for Prospective Non-Degree-Seeking Students
What is the cost of the certificate?
For up-to-date information on rates, please visit the Tuition Rates page within Student Financial Accounts.
If you already have a degree from DePaul, you are eligible for the Double Demon Scholarship, which would give you a 25% discount.
Are there any payment plans available?
Yes. You probably want to consider the single term payment plan. Info is available here. Generally, there is no other financial aid for certificate students.
How do I apply?
You need to apply as a graduate non-degree student at go.depaul.edu/apply and submit transcripts.
Is there an application fee?
Yes. $40.
Is there an application deadline?
No, but you are encouraged to apply in advance of the start of your term of enrollment (ideally at least one month in advance).
Once I've been admitted, how do I register for classes?
Upon admission, you will submit an “intent to enroll” form (available after admission through the application portal). You will then need to contact Elias Shakkour (e.shakkour@depaul.edu) for advising, and he (or the course instructor) will place a request with the LAS Graduate Office to allow you to register. Graduate non-degree students cannot register on their own as long as they are in non-degree status.
Will I be permitted to take any courses that are not required for the certificate?
Yes, but should you decide to pursue a DePaul degree, it may be the case that not all courses taken in non-degree status are allowed to apply toward your DePaul degree.
