Welcome to the Department of Latin American & Latino Studies (LALS)! This interdisciplinary department explores the broad dynamics shaping Latin American & Latino experiences and draws courses and insights from multiple fields. The Department of Latin American & Latino Studies also serves to deepen Latino students’ awareness of their cultural heritage.

BA in Latin American and Latino Studies

Examine the multicultural relationship between peoples and cultures of Latin America, including indigenous, European, Semitic, Arab, Asian and African societies, and explore the profound linkage that has emerged between Latin America and the United States, particularly through the construction of Latino communities in the U.S. Explore the cultural contributions of Latin America to the global community through concentrations in:
