Charlotte M. Phillips is a long time community engagement synergist and event planner. Her work is grounded in designing purposeful programming and events that support positive social impact. Charlotte has worked with the Woods Fund of Chicago, Chicago Community Trust and the Kellogg Foundation to form African American and Latin@ working groups citywide. These groups build community to combat violence, raise awareness on issues regarding quality and equitable education, promote the arts and civic engagement among youth of color. Her attention to providing space for nonprofits, grassroots organizations, students and community members often puts her at the intersection of connecting people and participating in critical conversations on topics such as race, class and gender. She earned her M.A. at DePaul and is a proud native of the Humboldt Park community of Chicago.
