Micaela Cayton Garrido has been working in the field of human rights and public interest matters for at least 15 years in the US, Singapore, Uganda and the Philippines. She graduated from the University of Notre Dame (USA) with an MA in International Peace Studies, and a Juris Doctor and BA in Communications from the Ateneo de Manila University (Philippines). She has worked as a researcher, legal advocate, outreach and education coordinator, mediator, and elections monitor. Her research interests revolve around the intersection of human rights, migration, worker welfare, violence and crime victimization.
