Professor Micaela Cayton Garrido has been working in the field of human rights and public interest law for the past 15 years with practical experience in the US, Singapore, Uganda and the Philippines. She has a Masters degree in International Peace Studies with a focus on global politics and international norms from the University of Notre Dame (USA). She also possesses a Juris Doctor degree and a BA in Communications from Ateneo de Manila University in the Philippines. She has worked as an attorney, mediator, researcher and elections monitor among other things, and currently work on advocacy, training and outreach on human trafficking and crime victimization issues in the state of Illinois.
