Professor Shan Wang majored in electrical engineering and minored in Chinese language and literature in college in China. She then worked in the engineering field in Asia and Europe. After moving to the U.S., she studied education at DePaul and received her M.Ed. in World Language Education. She holds Standard Mandarin Proficiency License (received in China), Illinois Teaching Certificate, and International Baccalaureate Diploma Authorization Certificate. Professor Wang taught Chinese language and culture in the Chicago Public School system for 22 years before joining DePaul. She was a board member of Midwest Chinese Teachers Associate and has been an active member of several teaching professional organizations. She teaches the 1st- and 2nd-year CHN sequence at DePaul.
