The DePaul Humanities Center is honored to host the Brothers Quay. Identical twin brothers Stephen and Timothy are London-based film directors, stop motion animators, and artists, fresh from a comprehensive and highly-celebrated retrospective of their work at the Museum of Modern Art in New York City. Influenced especially by Eastern European authors and artists, the Brothers Quay have created some of the most stunning and stunningly original images ever set to film in shorts such asStreet of Crocodiles (1986) and full-length features such as Institute Benjamenta, or This Dream People Call Human Life (1995). Join us for an evening of conversation with these two great minds as, in celebration of the genius and beauty of the Quays’ work, the DePaul Humanities Center presents the Brothers with the 2013-14 Humanities Laureate Award.
This event is free and open to the public. Parking is available at the Sheffield Parking Facility located at 2335 N. Sheffield and in the Clifton Parking Deck located at 2330 N. Clifton. Contact DePaul Parking Services (773-325-7275) for rates.
