Summer Institute Lead Faculty Opportunities

From July 25-July 29, 2022, the Social Transformation Research Collaborative will host newly admitted undergraduate students to a Summer Institute on Influencers for Racial and Social Justice. The STRC is seeking applications from LAS tenure-line faculty interested in joining the leadership team of the 2022 Summer Institute.

Eligibility
Tenure-line faculty in LAS are eligible to apply. Successful candidates will be able to demonstrate that they:

  • have academic interest in and teaching experience related to the subject matter and theme of the Institute, Influencers for Racial and Social Justice;
  • are deeply conversant with the humanities;
  • have a desire to connect with and mentor students.

Compensation
Faculty chosen for these roles will be compensated with one unit of summer salary.

The application timeline for Summer Institute 2022 is outlined below. Interested faculty should review the FAQ and plan to attend the general information session on Dec. 9, 2021 at 2 PM (RSVP here). Applicants for the Summer Institute Lead Faculty opportunity should review the Application Guidelines packet, which provides details of all materials that must be submitted through the online application. The application process is the same from year to year, though the shared annual theme changes. The Collaborative's 2021-22 shared theme is Influencers for Racial and Social Justice.
