Sungsoon (Julie) Hwang

Ph.D., State University of New York at Buffalo
M.S., University of Nottingham
B.A., Seoul National University

Professor Hwang is a GIS scientist with interests in housing, transportation, education, community development, and public health. She has published in the disciplines of geography, urban planning, and computer science. Her research has been on fuzzy geodemographics, GIS for sustainability education, and uncertain GPS trajectory computing. Her recent collaboration with health scientists looks at ways to utilize geospatial technologies and artificial intelligence towards improving health outcomes of diabetic patients and persons with disabilities.
