Welcome to DePaul 2021 Chinese Lunar New Year Gala, the university’s 13th lunar new year celebration! Each year at DePaul, we come together to enjoy delicious local Chinese foods, artistic performances, and even a lucky dragon dance. This year, our celebration will be virtual, but you can participate at home by wearing red (signifying future success), hanging red decorations (lanterns are a good choice), giving lucky red envelopes (to children, employees, and elders), and eating New Year's Eve dinner with family (the most important meal of the year). This is the
Year of the Metal Ox, traditionally seen as a symbol of hard work and methodology; it is a year to put focus on improving relationships of all kinds.
As part of our celebration, we'll release an event video with prerecorded lunar new year greeting messages from our students, faculty, alumni, DePaul administrators, community partners, and friends
from all backgrounds at 12:00pm, February 12, 2021.
