2021 Symposium on Teaching China and Japan: Call for Proposals

​​2021 ​Symposium on Teaching China and Japan: Pedagogical Collaboration across Languages, Disciplines, Communities and Borders

Call for Proposals

If you are interested in participating in the symposium, please prepare the following information and submit your application by 11:59pm (CDT), October 18, 2020, at: http://go.depaul.edu/china-japanproposal.

  • Your name and affiliated institution
  • The language your teaching involves
  • Project Title
  • Project Abstract (300~500 words, excluding references)
  • A list of five select publications or presentations in the past ten years

The abstract should discuss theories, curriculum, and instructional designs, or research on language pedagogical collaboration. Possible topics might include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Language and area studies faculty collaboration (e.g., CBLI, FLAC etc.);
  • Cross-language collaboration (e.g. Asian conversation project, a joint-study abroad program in China and Japan, etc.);
  • Community-based collaboration (e.g., experiential learning, internship, etc.);
  • Collaboration with other entities (e.g. educational technology publisher, etc.);
  • International collaboration (e.g., Collaborative Online International Learning (COIL), etc.).

Submitted presentations should not have been previously published. The notification of selection results will be sent by November 01.
