Joseph Klein is a faculty member at Triton College. He chose the MA in WRD program because of its concentration in Teaching Writing and Language and the opportunity to earn a TESOL Certificate. WRD’s course offerings in rhetorical theory and composition pedagogy allowed Joseph to achieve his goal of teaching full-time at the community college level: “Community colleges were always very impressed with my MA in WRD degree. I had multiple tenure track job offers in an extremely tough market partially because this degree set me apart from those with literature-focused English degrees.” Learn more about Joseph on the WRD Blog.
Kevin Lyon is an instructional technology consultant at DePaul’s Faculty Instructional Technology Services office. He works with faculty to develop effective online and hybrid courses using digital tools. For Kevin, the value of the MA in WRD program is that it will prepare you for a variety of careers that have a “distinct need for strong and clear communication, careful and detailed research, and balanced, rational argument.” Learn more about Kevin on the WRD Blog.
