​Dr. Mehrdad Vaziri is a highly accomplished Geospatial Strategist and researcher, bringing over a decade of expertise to the Department of Geography at DePaul University. Holding a Ph.D. in Geography and Environmental Science and Policy, Dr. Vaziri is recognized for his contributions to spatial analysis,​ particularly in the domains of geospatial analytics, spatial statistics, and market planning. 

Throughout his career, Dr. Vaziri has established centers of excellence, led geospatial analytics projects, and conducted groundbreaking research in spatial data science. His work extends to both academia and industry, with a strong track record of optimizing locations, refining market strategies, and contributing significantly to various spatial analysis domains.

​Dr. Vaziri is also a published scholar, showcasing his commitment to advancing knowledge in the field. His adaptability and collaborative spirit have led to significant organizational impacts, making him a valuable addition to the academic community.​​ 

In addition to his research contributions, Dr. Vaziri has shared his expertise through teaching courses such as Computer Cartography, GIS in Planning, and Environmental Science Labs. Students under his guidance benefit from his practical insights and comprehensive understanding of spatial sciences.
