For fifty-one years, between 1961 and 2012, the DePaul Geographical Society held monthly lectures and events on DePaul’s campus for current students and alumni. Upon its cessation of activities, the Society endowed a Scholarship to encourage the exploration of Geography by a DePaul undergraduate student.
Consideration will be given to whether the applicant is a member of a historically underrepresented group in Geography or whether the individual has demonstrated an interest in/commitment to increasing the prevalence of, or improving the role of, underrepresented groups in Geography. Recipients of the DGSS will receive a tuition credit, payable for the Spring Quarter following the Fall application. The award for the DePaul Geographical Society Scholarship is $3000.
