Part-time Positions

From time to time, the Department of Modern Languages seeks to hire part-time instructors in any of the languages that it teaches: Arabic, Chinese, French, German, Classical Greek, Italian, Japanese, Latin, Russian and Spanish. For part-time positions, the department prefers candidates with a MA or PhD degree and evidence of successful teaching at the undergraduate level. Full-time Positions

Volunteer Corps Coordinator

The Volunteer Corps Coordinator will support the College of Law, Asylum and Immigration Law Clinic's Illinois Immigration Legal Services Capacity Building project, by maximizing access to existing qualified immigration services providers who possess the legal skills but may not have language ability to provide legal services. Under the direct supervision of the Chair of the Modern Languages department, the Volunteer Corps Coordinator will develop an interpreter and translator volunteer corps to provide assistance interpretation and translation services to low-income immigrants and refugees in need of legal services in Illinois.  The Coordinator will engage in vetting, orientation and training of volunteers.  The Coordinator will work with the Department of Modern Languages to manage the volunteers and ensure competency of interpreters and translators in the identified languages, and develop and implement systems for evaluation of volunteers and the project.  Additionally, the Coordinator will develop an intake system for processing requests for assistance from volunteers and match individuals requesting assistance with volunteers and engage in outreach and community engagement about the availability of services through the volunteer corps and evaluate services provided. While the Coordinator will be located in Department of Modern Languages and report to the Modern Languages Chair, the Project Director in the College of Law will direct the project, ensure that the project goals are met, and that the interpreter services are within the defined scope of the project.  Log in at DePaul University Human Resources to apply.​
