Annual Sociology Undergraduate Scholarship

​​The Department of Sociology offers a limited number of scholarships each year to juniors and seniors majoring in sociology who demonstrate academic excellence. 

To be Eligible You Must:
1.  Be a sociology major
2.  Be a junior or senior who will be enrolled in Spring Quarter, 2016
3.  Have a 3.75 or higher cumulative GPA
4.  Demonstrate academic excellence

Required Application Materials:
A.  Unofficial transcript 
B.  Essay (no more than 700 words).  Choose what you consider to be the most important issue of our time and explain how sociology contributes to our understanding of it. 
C.  Essay (no more than 700 words) listing any academic activities, clubs, community service, internships, or other accomplishments that you believe to be related to the field of sociology.

How to Apply:
Eligible students must submit an application via Academic Works.  This site allows students to apply to a wide variety of LAS scholarships.  The Sociology Endowed Scholarship application opens each year in mid-October.  Please see the Academic Works site for the exact application deadline.
