HumanitiesX, DePaul's Experiential Learning Collaborative, is pleased to share a series of guides for experiential humanities courses and projects. Developed with support from 2023-2024 Student Fellows Fiona Reed, Safiyah Simpkins, and Taylor Sellers-Varela, the guides will support the work of the HumanitiesX fellows and students at DePaul University. We hope they are helpful to the broader teaching public as well.

The series of guides includes:

  1. Introducing Students to the Publicly-Engaged Humanities
  2. Working with Special Collections and Archives in Experiential Humanities Courses
  3. Working with Maker Labs on Creative Projects in Experiential Humanities Courses
  4. Creating Exhibitions in Experiential Humanities Courses
  5. Promoting Events in Experiential Humanities Courses

The guides share tips and lessons from past HumanitiesX courses, and we hope they will empower faculty and students in ambitious public and experiential humanities courses and projects.

To learn more about the community-engaged, project-based humanities courses created by past HumanitiesX fellows, read the course showcases on the HumanitiesX website.
