Public Policy Studies

Currently, there are more than 100 students who major or minor in Public Policy Studies. Students who major in Public Policy Studies have a variety of career options. Traditionally, this has been a field leading to work in governmental settings, but in recent years the proliferation of community-based organizations and other non-profit groups has opened up additional occupational opportunities for students with training in specific public policy fields or public policy analysis.

Public policy is also a useful undergraduate major for students intending to pursue graduate training in law school or the social sciences such as public policy, environmental or urban studies, political science, public administration or planning.  The program has also had graduates go into economics, and business, as well as various specialized policy areas.
