Nonprofit Organizations (Minor)

The minor in Nonprofit Organizations is designed for students interested in working in the nonprofit sector or contributing to social change. Students will learn the leadership and operational skills necessary for a successful nonprofit organization including fundraising, advocacy, and program management. Students may also complete an internship with a nonprofit organization as part of the minor's requirements. The minor is offered within the School of Public Service and requires 20 quarter credit hours (5 courses). It is available to any degree seeking undergraduate student and pairs well with many undergraduate majors. The minor in Nonprofit Organizations is structured in a manner that enables students to complete the minor as part of a combined Bachelors/Masters degree in conjunction with the School of Public Service. Students completing the nonprofit management sequence in Theater  Management (THE 201, 202, 203 and 207) or Performing Arts Management (PAM 301, 302, 303, 304) will be allowed to waive the two required courses (PPS 208 or CSS 300; PPS 318, 319 or 346), and can complete the minor in Nonprofit Organizations by successfully pursuing three elective courses from the list below.
