How Do I Begin?

Students can find an internship one of three ways: by visiting our Sociology internship listings, using DePaul's Handshake website, or by choosing an outside organization that meets the internship standards. Students who choose this last option should consider the following:

  1. Work with the internship program director to identify an internship that best fits the area of professional interest.
  2. Speak with professors about professional contacts they may have in the Chicago area.
  3. Reach out to peers who have already had internship experiences.

DePaul's Sociology students have participated in a wide variety of prestigious internships. Past internships have included: La Casa Norte, YWCA Metropolitan Chicago, Court Appointed Special Advocates of Cook County, Chicago Innocence Center, Deborah’s Place, Jumpstart Chicago, Openlands, Illinois Justice Project, San Miguel School, Center for Community Health Equity, MultiFaith Veterans Support Initiative, and Institute of Real Estate.
