Institute for Business & Professional Ethics

In 1981, under the leadership of Br. Leo Ryan, then Dean of the College of Commerce and in partnership with the Liberal Arts and Social Sciences IBPE was founded as a university-focused organization. Today, the IBPE has an expanded outreach not just to the University, but also to the professional compliance and ethics community, businesses and business professionals in Chicago, and national and international organizations.

The Institute’s work continues to be supported by the Driehaus College of Business, as well as by the College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences. Led by several of the nation’s leading business ethics scholars, the IBPE strives to bring the broad knowledge base of academic research to life, helping business leaders resolve a growing number of real-world ethical and compliance challenges.
