DePaul's Master's Program in Sociology offers a progressive curriculum that:
- provides students specialized training in topics of their choosing, including social inequalities; social institutions, health and human services; criminology; urban community development; and culture, media and art.
- enables students to focus on a topic of interest and apply research skills in an area of specialization.
- engages students with the broader community through research, advocacy and service.
The MA Program in Sociology is a 48 credit hour program (12 courses) that exposes students to key sociological methods and theory through a variety of required core courses, electives, and the completion of a final writing project.

Admission Information
Criteria / Conditions: The department of sociology admits students with a bachelor's degree from a regionally-accredited institution who show definite promise for completing the requirements for the advanced degree. Successful applicants will demonstrate a strong academic record, typically with at least a 3.0 GPA, and prior courses and/or experience in sociology or related fields, as well as an interest in pursuing a career related to sociology.
Students who have not taken undergraduate statistics with a A- or better will be required to complete SOC 402: Statistics for the Social Sciences. SOC 402 carries graduate credit and can be counted among the twelve courses for the degree.
The Department of Sociology accepts incoming applications for the Sociology MA program for the fall and winter quarters.
